In Autumn 2021 Musicscool launched two new choirs for young people who love to sing!   The choirs are for children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 13 who enjoy singing together in harmony, learning all sorts of music and developing their performance confidence.  We cover a wide range of repertoire from Pop and Gospel, to A Capella and Classical Music.  The rehearsals are fast-paced, lively and great fun!

 

Junior Choir - A choir for boys and girls in school years 1, 2, 3 and 4. 

The rehearsals take place on Tuesdays between 3:45pm - 4:30 pm at Loddon Hall, Twyford.

 

Youth Choir  - A choir for boys and girls in schools years 5 to 9.

The rehearsals take place on Tuesdays between 4:30pm and 5:15pm at Loddon Hall, Twyford.

 

There is no audition - anyone is welcome to come along for a free taster session.

Both choirs are run by Liz, who is the Founder of Musicscool and an experienced, professional choral director.

About Liz - Musicscool's Choir Director

I have always had a passion for choral singing having sung in choirs since the age of 6. I fell in love with directing choirs when I conducted ‘House Song’ at school, and my house won for the first time in 17 years! I then conducted the University Chamber Choir whilst studying for my music degree, and eventually my passion for teaching, directing and inspiring others to sing surpassed my full-time singing career.  As well as running Musicscool and Ladies choir ‘Cantata Conviva’, I am currently Head of Singing at Bradfield College where I also direct the chapel choir and 'Bradfield Bellas', a pitch-perfect-inspired girls choir.

Between 2011 and 2016 I was director of ‘Berkshire Young Voices’, the County Choir.  Under my directorship the choir gave performances at Kings College, Cambridge, the Royal Albert Hall, and an acclaimed performance on Radio 3 for BBC Music Day.  I have also worked with The National Youth Choirs of Wales in recent years, directing the Training Choir and tutoring on the Youth Choir courses. Up until last year, I was also Musical Director of the Thames Valley Chorus.  I am so excited to be bringing some choral singing for young people to Twyford!
